Email Marketing: Quick Tips for More Effective Writing
Writing by Brick Marketing on Thursday, May 1, 2008
Successful email marketing requires great writing. Often it´s not the subject of the email content that makes it great, but the actual writing. A dull email will do nothing to boost your reputation and after reading a couple of snoozers, you´ll lose most of your subscribers.
Great Email Marketing Writing Tips
- Be active. Using passive verbs like “is” and “was” will cause your email marketing to fall flat on its face. Spice things up with action verbs.
- Break it up. There´s no need for run on sentences or paragraphs in email marketing, you´ll have much more success with shorter sentences that keep the tone upbeat. It´s also easier to read an email that has lots of white space.
- Avoid technical jargon. If your subscribers might not know what you´re talking about, put it in plain English. People tire quickly of emails that they don´t understand.
Don´t let your email marketing be less than it can be. Punch it up with some great writing, keep it interesting and best of all, include lots of top notch information that your readers can use!
