Not all email content is exactly reader friendly. Your writing will depend greatly on the audience, but it should definitely be readable by your target market. Not all email marketers keep this in mind as they write their email content.

If you tend to write in the style of a university English professor, then your email content probably isn´t reader friendly to the majority of lists. A teen looking for gaming tips, for example, won´t follow your strategy guides for long. Likewise, if you are writing in a style suited to small children, the majority of adults will feel slighted and ignore your emails, no matter how helpful they are.

Experts recommend writing to about an 8th grade level, but it´s hard to tell exactly what that is for most . . . unless you happen to have an 8th grader kicking around the house. Otherwise, your best bet is to take a look at some other email newsletters in your area of expertise and see how they write. Another good way to check the level of your email content is to have one or two people read it and give you their honest opinion.

When you are trying to come up with email content on a regular basis, your muse tends to get worn out. Using articles from sites like EzineArticles and other article directories starts to look pretty good when your brain is frazzled!

Are other people´s articles a good idea? It really depends.

If you hire a freelance writer to ghostwrite articles for you to use in your email, that´s just fine. Even an expert article from someone in your industry could be useful for your email content. But when you use content that is already being used across the internet, that´s when other´s writing becomes a bad idea.
