2024 was HUGE for email marketing, with Yahoogle bringing down the hammer on authentication and making what has been best practices for a long time, required practices. Deliverability people celebrated like the geeks we are at the news that first broke in October 2023, with the go-live date in February 2024.

What can we expect in 2025 for email marketing?

I donā€™t have a working crystal ball yet, but I suspect we will see more Mailbox Providers (MBPs) jumping on the bandwagon of full authentication. We MAY see some MBPs require DMARC enforcement and not just p=none like it is now.

Seeing as authentication alignment is now much more prevalent, we will see domain reputation continue to play a more significant role while IP reputation importance continues to decline.
