Do you own your audience?
Would your business survive if your audience platform shuts down?
Would your business survive if your audience platform shuts down?
Sunday, 19 January 2025, TikTok was unavailable in the USA for around 12 hours. Creators were panicking and shouting the doom and gloom from the rooftops.
TikTok was restored but with another ticking clock of 75 days.
If you are building audiences on ANY social platform, would your business be able to survive when those platforms either shut down or shut down your account?
If you are building just on those platforms, then yes, your business would be gone in a heartbeat. Ask the millions of people this has happened to in the past!
If, however, you are using these platforms to drive people to sign up for your email list, then you would be safe and sound in knowing that you own your email list and you alone, and no shutdown or ban can take that away from you!
If you haven’t yet, start building your email list now! Treat your list with dignity and respect. Share valuable information. Always get permission. Immediately honor unsubscribes. Sell from time to time. Don’t exhaust your list.
Follow these guidelines, and your business will be able to weather any storm!
Till next week!
